Amy Abbott owner & chef is passionate about food. She often says “you eat with your eyes first.” Her 30 years experience in food, catering & hospitality all come together in her creative menus for the Inn guests. She draws inspiration for her cooking from Vermont’s bountiful bevy of organically grown produce, fine cheeses, locally raised beef & poultry, as well as harvests from her own vegetable & herb garden. One might call her a foodie by today’s standards. One look at her library of cookbooks and you know there is a culinary interest bordering on obsession. Her food philosophy is to start with the best ingredients & let their flavors shine. Amy’s food preparation does not shy away from the use of butter, cream or alcohol, used to enhance many an entrée. The modest restaurant, serves 16 ~ 20 guests and is an intimate space where food is shared, savored & friendships begin. On many Saturday nights, guests mingle at the table after dessert & coffees have been enjoyed, just to talk, laugh & relax. Guests then head across the driveway to dance in Club Sugarshack.
